Queen Tour

On the trail of the famous band and its singer Freddie Mercury

Some places from the time when rock star Freddie Mercury lived in Munich (1979-1985) have since disappeared. At the same time, however, there are also places that have hardly changed since then and which we can visit on our tour almost in their “original state”. We get to know Freddie’s preferences, but also learn which people were important to him, why he felt so comfortable in Munich of all places and how it came about that the band Queen recorded several records here – even though they had their own studio in Montreux. Over the course of the tour, we pass numerous small, sometimes quirky or even wicked locations, all of which had a special appeal for the singer in their own way. After all the stops at memorable places and many charming stories about Queen’s experiences during their time in Munich, the tour ends near the Sendlinger Tor.

Schwabing-Tour

Schwabing Tour

A district through the ages – between hippies and high society

The famous Munich district of Schwabing has changed a lot. With its tour MucTours offers a great, anecdote-filled insight into the wild and headline-grabbing times of the 1970s to 80s and also shows the Schwabing highlights of today on the approximately two-and-a-half-hour tour. Our city explorers are all absolute Schwabing connoisseurs and have numerous anecdotes up their sleeves that wonderfully illustrate how wild and unbridled things used to be in this district. Legendary discotheques, fantastic live clubs, quirky characters and an omnipresent sense of freedom that we no longer know today. We visit all these places, have the pictures from back then to hand and tell stories that will either make you shake your head, smile or laugh. To make sure our throats don’t dry out on the tour, we also stop off at two cult pubs with a long history.

Wiesn-Tour

Oktoberfest Tour 2025

Experience the world-famous festival – with evening reservation (party time) in the beer tent

Our guides are true Munich locals. They will take you on a Wiesn tour of the festival grounds with a little history, funny anecdotes and special personal recommendations. Later, you’ll head to one of the large beer tents, where an appetizer platter, two beers and a chicken (or similar food and drink) await you at our reserved tables. Our city explorers are great networkers, so you’re sure to feel right at home. And of course they recommend the best after-Wiesn parties for the tireless. Experience Oktoberfest from its authentic side, without tourist traps, admission chaos and the hassle of finding a seat. Instead, nice people, a great atmosphere and guaranteed partying.

THE QUEEN TOUR: FREDDIE MERCURY’S WILD YEARS IN MUNICH

Walking tour from 5 people up to 15 people • In the footsteps of rock star Freddie Mercury • With gastronomic stops along the way • Duration: approx. 3 hours

Itinerary:

We meet at the Isartor at the start of our walk. After learning more about the history of the band, Freddie Mercury and his good Munich friend and night companion Barbara Valentin, we set off on an evening that Freddie must have experienced many times before.

First we go to a place that was close to his apartment and is still almost unchanged. Here we can vividly imagine how Freddie enjoyed the confinement and anonymity. With the first feeling of a typical pub visit, we continue towards the Glockenbachviertel. On the way we stop at a pub where Freddie once had to swing a broom and learn how it came to be.

Throughout the tour we pass many small, sometimes quirky or even disreputable venues, all of which held a special attraction for the singer in their own way. After all the stops at memorable places and many charming stories about the singer’s experiences during his time in Munich, the tour ends near Sendlinger Tor. Here we have the opportunity to end the evening in one of his favourite bars.

SCHWABING THEN AND NOW – 70s, 80s till today

Walking tour by real Schwabing connoisseurs with 5 to 12 people • stops at cult pubs • Duration: approx. 3 hours

Itinerary

We meet at the south-eastern subway exit Giselastraße (subway lines 3 and 6) and start at Leopoldstraße, number 28a, a place steeped in history. This now inconspicuous building was once home to Città 2000, a colorful and diverse shopping and entertainment center. This vision of the future by the two Samy brothers was just one of many properties with which they shaped Schwabing in the late 1960s/early 1970s and made the district one of the coolest in the world. On the tour that takes us all the way to Münchner Freiheit, we will keep coming across places that were once owned by these two brothers and that attracted stars by the dozen.

Our city explorers are all Schwabing connoisseurs and have plenty of anecdotes up their sleeves that illustrate just how wild and unbridled things used to be in this neighborhood. Legendary discos, fantastic live clubs, bizarre characters and an omnipresent sense of freedom that we no longer know. We visit all these places, have the pictures at hand and tell stories that will either make you shake your head, smile or laugh. And to make sure your throat doesn’t dry up on the tour, we’ll also be stopping off at two iconic pubs with a long history. One of them – this much can be revealed – is the good old Drugstore of the Samy brothers mentioned at the beginning. You can still feel the flair of bygone days in today’s Hamburgerei, where we end the evening in a cozy atmosphere. From there it’s only a stone’s throw to Münchner Freiheit, which is easily accessible by public transport.
