Mercury?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" id=\"freiheit-und-anonymitat\" style=\"color:#000000;font-size:20px\">Freedom and anonymity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Mercury enjoyed a rare anonymity and freedom in Munich. He was treated normally by the people of Munich and not as a star, which suited him very well. This allowed him to live out his personality and sexuality openly.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"lebendige-lgbtq-szene\">Lively LGBTQ scene<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 1980s, Munich was one of the most important gay strongholds in the world alongside New York, San Francisco and Amsterdam.  <br\/>The Glockenbachviertel was the center of this scene with numerous clubs and bars that Mercury liked to visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"kreative-inspiration\">Creative inspiration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Mercury&#8217;s time in Munich was very productive musically. Queen recorded five albums at the nearby Musicland Studios, including hits such as &#8220;Crazy Little Thing Called Love&#8221; and &#8220;Another One Bites the Dust&#8221;. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div Deutsche Eiche, a traditional meeting place for the LGBTQ+ scene, commemorates the singer (see also below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2421f014286a0c3cbd44260ad37eda11\"><strong>Glockenbachviertel<\/strong>: This neighborhood was Mercury&#8217;s favorite place to stay in Munich, known for its liberal and diverse club scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Freddie-Mercury-Stra\u00dfe<\/strong>: This street is located in the Neuhausen district, but has no direct connection to Mercury&#8217;s life in Munich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#000000;font-size:17px\"><strong>Paradiso dance bar (formerly Old Mrs. Henderson)<\/strong>: This is where Mercury celebrated his 39th birthday and shot the has-text-color\"><strong>Ex-Queen singer Freddie Mercury lived in Munich from 1979 to 1985.  <\/strong>The rock star, who died in 1991, recorded several records here in the Musicland studio with his band and enjoyed the (night) life after long working days. He celebrated his birthday here several times with his Munich friends.
