The Pimpernel is one of the oldest continuously operating nightclubs in Munich, with roots dating back to the 1930s. The venue was formerly known as the “Red Cat” and “Lucian”. Since 1970, it has operated under the name Pimpernel, a reference to the medicinal herb pimpernelle and the word pimp or pimpernel. In the 70s and 80s, it was a well-known gay bar with prominent guests such as Freddie Mercury, Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Walter Sedlmayr, who is said to have met his later murderer here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2007, Pimpernel was transformed into an underground club with a daily DJ program under the management of Sven K\u00fcnast. Open from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. or 7 a.m., the club is always a good place to go for tireless people who are into electronic music. Worth seeing are the large back-glass pictures at the top of the wall, which show explicit scenes and therefore have a very stimulating effect when flirting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
